The answer is self evident. The entire Ancient People including the Mayan Indians on the other side of the globe worshiped the Sun and the Jews were no different. In fact even the wild animals both warm and cold blooded bask in the Sunlight by day and many species hunt for food during darkness.

When we examine the historicity of any of the acknowledged Revealed Religions (religion told face to face with God or in a dream  from a Spirit to an individual) and take this as the Word of our Creator and Benefactor? I just can not help thinking are we not stretching our common sense? Now please do not misunderstand me.


Now here is something to ponder. The Jews claim their religion is over 5,000 yrs old. Modern experts claim no way There is no historicity to prove that except for the tales in the Bible.

The Hebrews had also previously lived in the lands of the Sumerians, Assyrians and Babylonians. Modern archeology and scholarship, however, casts serious doubt as to whether this early Israeli state ever existed. Modern scholarship suggests that the Pentateuch (books of Moses) were written between 700 BCE and 500 BCE, when a mythical Moses figure, along with a mythical early kingdom, was invented.

I also firmly believe in One God that we all announce at the beginning of the Creed. Anything further are we not insulting our true Natural God that created us above the animal kingdom by giving us brains that we can through our memory, observation and reason discover with provable facts much what was hidden to earlier man.?

There is absolutely no Secular Historical proof from the whoppers related in the Torah, New Testament or Koran ever happened. The Chronology reveals as being all in error according to the book itself. (Thomas Paine proves this beyond a shadow of doubt in  "The Age of Reason.") Of interest is the fact that one of the most important ceremonies of all Rome called Saturnalia was celebrated during the period leading to the Winter Solstice.

Just thought of a Joke. After all we need some good natured  humor in life.

  

Sitting by the window of  her convent, Sister Barbara opened a letter from home one evening. Inside  the letter was a $100 bill her parents had sent.

Sister Barbara smiled at the gesture.  As she read the letter by the window, she  noticed a shabbily dressed stranger leaning against the lamp post  below.

Quickly, she wrote, "Don't despair. Sister Barbara," on a piece of paper, wrapped the $100 bill in it, got the man's attention  and tossed it out the window to him. The stranger picked it up, and with  a puzzled expression and a tip of his hat, went off down the street.

The next day, Sister Barbara was told that a man was at her door, insisting on seeing her. She went down, and found the stranger waiting.  

Without a word, he handed her a huge wad of $100 bills.

"What's this?" she asked.
   

"That's the $8,000 you have  coming Sister," he replied.
"Don't Despair paid  80-to-1."

Around the Winter Solstice the Sun, which early man took to be God, is in the Constellation  of Orion, the brightest star in the East and three stars from its belt lining up pointing to the exact spot where the Sun will rise. These three stars were called by Egyptian Astrologers the Three Kings or Magi and are still called that 'till this day by modern Science Astonomers.

In addition, in the catacombs at Rome are pictures of the baby Horus being held by the virgin mother Isis--the original "Madonna and Child."
