An open letter The Pledge between two senior citizens:

An open letter between two senior citizens:

Dear Tessy, I'm sure you grew up prior to Eisenhower being President: In Public School daily during the 2nd world war Unless you attended Parochial School and said the Our Father and Hail Mary facing a Cross, My parents, in turn, could not afford extra monies for tuitions for the four of us kids so we went to Public School. We saluted the flag starting our day with: I pledge allegiance to the flag Of the United States of America, And to the Republic for which it stands:
One Nation indivisible,
With Liberty and Justice for all.
President Dwight D. Eisenhower (In1954) with the fear of Socialism approved adding the words "under God". Thus allowing the Theocratic Camel to slip his smelly nose over the Constitution's wall of separation between religion and state. And it has been since that time our Nation has been sliding downhill.
Jay Leno's quote: 'With hurricanes, tornadoes, fires out of control, mud slides, Flooding, severe thunderstorms tearing up the country from one end to Another, and with the threat of bird flu and terrorist attacks, are we Sure this is a good time to take God out of the Pledge of Allegiance?', great for a laugh to the majority uninformed or those whose memory has forgotten, because to me it is in reality an empty one. Naturally he is too young to have experienced those times. As for myself, New York City was a melting pot. Every former immigrant citizen of every religious or ethnic persuasion pulled together for the common good. America guaranteed freedom for all beliefs and or no beliefs. And that was our strength and why everyone loved being an American. They knew Our American Revolution freed itself from Religious law and they came here escaping from European or Asiatic King/Tyrant Theocracies; Dictatorships! Our armed forces were completely respected and honored, unlike today. People of other depressed lands today don't know what we stand for. We even have to make new laws defining what marriage is because many of our young are tempted and they've already tried the normal so often they want to try something different. Soon they will pass laws so they can marry their pet animal and should be included on their work HMO and Pension. I know if my mom and dad saw what was going on with our beloved country and probably also your parents they would not be very impressed. Young girls can't wait to be single moms before even finishing HS. Loveless men fathering children through sperm banks for a few dollars. A very large percentage have no job skills and feels the country owes them a welfare check. Many positions of executive caliber are wanting and companies have to hire foreigners because our youths are too busy playing ipods or twittering text messages of foolishness.
Let's hope 2012 we get a real leader in the White House. I still have not seen one that is in the bunch today. Sorry for taking your time reading my frustration with the Nation, Signed Unknown.
PS, The quote of the month at the beginning of the second paragraph is
Jay Leno:
Now what does Jay know about those growing up before President Ike?
